2.   PLANNING & ZONING BOARD AGENDA APPROVAL

 

Action Request:        Motion to approve or approve with modifications the October 21, 2021 Agenda.

 

 

3.   APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES                                                                (TAB 1)           

 

Action Request:        Motion to approve or approve with modifications the August 31, 2021 Minutes.

   

 

 

4. VARIANCE, VAR 2021-01 (K.HILL)                                                                       (TAB 2)

A variance request, (VAR 2021-02) by the applicant, Florida Investing 8 &9, LLC., at 1150, 1158, and 1160 8th Avenue West. The applicant has requested a variance from Section 4.3 of the City of Palmetto Code of Ordinances, to reduce the corner lot setback for (2) future commercial buildings.

Action Request:        Based upon the staff report, the comments made at the public hearing, and finding the request to be inconsistent with the variance criteria set forth in Appendix “B”, Section 12.4 of the City of Palmetto Code of Ordinances, I move to dent Variance 2021-02.

 

5. SIGN ORDINANCE, ORDINANCE NO. 2021-15 (K.HILL)                                             (TAB 3)

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALMETTO, FLORIDA, REAFFIRMING AND RESTATING ORDINANCE 2020-06 AS AMENDMENTS TO ARTICLE III, SECTIONS 3-61 THROUGH 3-73 OF THE PALMETTO CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES REGULATING SIGNS, EXCEPT AS AMENDED BY THIS ORDINANCE; AMENDING SECTION 3-68 TO AMEND THE MAXIMUM HEIGHT FOR CERTAIN SIGNS AND AMENDING THE MAXIMUM WALL SIGN AREA FOR NON-RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS; AMENDING SECTION 3-70 TO ALLOW ELECTRONIC MESSAGE CENTER SIGNS IN NON-RESIDENTIAL AND PUBLIC DISTRICTS BY CONDITIONAL USE PERMITS; AMENDING SECTION 3-73 TO PROVIDE FOR NOTICE FOR REMOVAL OF SIGNS IN THE RIGHT OF WAY OR PUBLIC PROPERTY; ADDING A NEW SECTION 3-74 FOR APPEALS; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

Action Request:        I move to recommend the City Commission adopt Ordinance No. 2021-15

Terms for Chair Randy Iaboni, Jon Moore, and William Price, III will be expiring at the end of 2021. Please advise staff if you would like to serve another (3) year term on the City of Palmetto Planning and Zoning Board.
