1.               Mayor Bryant called the meeting to order at 7:12 pm.

 

 

 

2.               CRA BOARD AGENDA APPROVAL

 

 

MOTION:                   Ms. Cornwell moved, Mr. Williams seconded, and the motion

carried 5-0 to approve the December 18, 2023 Special CRA Board Agenda.

 

 

 

3.            PUBLIC COMMENT

 

  Betty Sailes Rhodes spoke on the multi-cultural festival.

4.               CONSIDERATION OF AGREEMENT OF PURCHASE AND SALE BETWEEN THE PALMETTO COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND THE STADLER DEVELOPMENT CORP. FOR THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF 8TH AVENUE AND RIVERSIDE DRIVE (THE RIVERSIDE PROPERTY) (M.BARNEBEY/E.JOHNSON)

 

         

Mr. Barnebey explained that this item was scheduled to go before the CRA Advisory Board on December 14th. However, they did not have a quorum. Therefore, this item has been moved to the CRA Advisory Board meeting on January 4th. It will then be on the City Commission and CRA Board Agenda on January 8th.

 

 

5.               SIGHT DEVELOPMENT-HEARTLAND & INCENTIVE AGREEMENT (POSTPONED)

 

This item was deferred to a future meeting.

 

 

6.               CRA DIRECTOR’S COMMENTS

 

No additional comments.

 

7.                     CRA PRESIDING OFFICER’S COMMENTS

 

Mayor Bryant said there is a continual stream of misinformation being provided to the community. She clarified that per state legislature, the CRA could no longer fund the festivals.  The City Commission agreed that each event, multi-cultural and 4th of July, would have a budget of $50,000.

 

 

8.               CRA BOARD MEMEBERS’ COMMENTS

 

Mr. Jones wanted to be given the final report for the multi-cultural festival. Mayor Bryant stated that it will be sent out to them. He asked for an update about the sign at Lincoln Park to Mr. Johnson. Mr. Johnson responded that he is working on that and will hopefully have something for the next meeting.

 

 Mr. Smith spoke on the multi-cultural festival and past entertainment.    Mr. Jones spoke about the meeting he had with Mayor Bryant about the multi-cultural festival. 

 

Mayor Bryant adjourned the meeting at 7:25 pm.
