MOTION: Ms. Cornwell moved, Mr. Smith seconded, and the motion carried
4-0 to approve the Consent Agenda as presented by staff.
5. CRA DIRECTOR’S COMMENTS
Mr. Johnson appreciated the Consent Agenda approval. The annual report looks a lot different than past years. They showcased funding sources and many of their projects. It provides the Board and the public with a deeper look into their program. They will be printing the annual report as an advertising tool as well.
There will be a Special CRA Board meeting on May 20th. Mr. Johnson noted that Mr. Williams had concerns about the Women’s Club funding, so it will come back on May 20th for further discussion and a request for consideration.
6. CRA PRESIDING OFFICER’S COMMENTS
Mayor Bryant asked if they will be bringing back the proposal for the mural at the May 20th meeting. Mr. Johnson did not think it would be ready for that meeting.
7. CRA BOARD MEMEBERS’ COMMENTS
Ms. Cornwell noted previous concerns from some of the Commissioners regarding the Women’s Club and other projects they want to see move forward. She would like him to bring back recommendations of how they can use the CRA funds to achieve this. Specifically, the security and welfare of the community, along with the enhancements they would like to see made. She suggested making a list of these projects and working backwards to create a plan to bring them to fruition. She also opined that she loved the report he presented.
Mayor Bryant adjourned the meeting at 7:12 pm
