CRA BOARD MEETING

October 5, 2015

Mayor Bryant opened the CRA Board meeting at 7:55 p.m.

 

1.  CRA BOARD AGENDA APPROVAL

 

Motion:            Mrs. Varndore moved, Mr. Davis seconded, and the motion carried 5-0 to approve the October 5, 2015 CRA Board Agenda.

 

2.  PUBLIC COMMENT

None.

 

3.  CRA CONSENT AGENDA

            A.  August 24, 2015 Minutes                                                                                         

            B.  FY2015 CPIP Budget Transfer                                                                                 

            C.  Blalock Walters Legal Bills                                                                                       

                       

Motion:      Mrs. Varnadore moved, Mr. Davis seconded, and the motion carried 5-0 to approve the October 5, 2015 CRA Consent Agenda.

 

4.  CRA DIRECTOR’S COMMENTS

Mr. Burton informed the Board that he has had discussions with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and their building located at 810 6th Street West.  The CRA would like to purchase the building and help renovate and restore it.  When the work is completed the CRA office could then be moved upstairs.  He requested a special meeting to discuss the option of purchasing the building.  A special meeting was called for Thursday October 8 at 5:30 p.m.

 

5  PRESIDING OFFICER’S COMMENTS

None.

 

6  CRA BOARD MEMBERS’ COMMENTS

Mrs. Cornwell—requested an update on the Olympia Theater project.  She questioned the parameters that were established when the incentive funding was applied for.  She requested more information, in writing, regarding that project; i.e. what has been met and what has not been met.

 

She asked Mr. Burton to seek more medical businesses to come to this side of the River.

Mrs. Varnadore—questioned the movies in the park for the fall.  Mr. Burton stated that the CRA is funding movies in the park for “big kids” during the fall and winter season at Sutton Park.  These are different then the City’s First Friday movies. 

 

Mayor Bryant adjourned the meeting at 8:22 p.m.
